The Food Pantry gratefully accepts donations of food, personal care items, clothing, and household items during business hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00-noon and 1:00-4:00, and Fridays from 9:00-noon. We also have a red donation drop box for food donations in the vestibule at Fareway for your convenience. Monetary donations may be made at geneseofoodpantry.org or mailed to: P.O. Box 324, Geneseo, IL 61254.
Residents of Geneseo or Atkinson who meet income guidelines may receive food once per month during business hours or by scheduling an evening appointment at geneseofoodpantry.org or call 944-3165. Any resident of Geneseo or Atkinson may shop in the clothing room once per week on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday during business hours. The Food Pantry provides emergency assistance for rent or utility bills to residents of Geneseo or Atkinson. Those in need can visit the Food Pantry to fill out an application.
The Food Pantry provided food and other assistance to 70 households in January. Food distributions in January were equivalent to 2025 meals, made possible through our community’s amazing support! We are truly grateful for the incredible support of our community.
The Scouting for Food Drive will take place on Saturday, March 19. If the Scouts put a tag on your door knob, they will pick up food from your front porch and deliver it to the Food Pantry. This food drive helps the Food Pantry have enough food for the summer months, when donations typically decrease.
Are you starting to plan your garden? Please consider planting an extra row for those who cannot afford to purchase fresh produce. Our clients truly appreciate the fresh fruits and vegetables donated from gardens in our community.
The Food Pantry is especially in need of 18-24 month clothing and larger size adult clothing. All clothing and household items are gratefully accepted.
Food needs for this month are: Oatmeal, K cup coffee, juice, tortillas, and mayonnaise.
Non-food needs are: Garbage bags, paper plates, gallon freezer bags, all purpose cleaner, and size 4, 5, and 6 diapers.
The Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday.
