You may drop off food, clothing, and household item donations on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00, and Friday 9:00-12:00. Thank you for your support!
Our clothing room is open to residents of Geneseo and Atkinson on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Food distribution is Tuesday 9:00-11:30.
On May 25, there was sewage coming up through almost every drain in the building. The city pumped the sewers and stopped the flood, but the flooring was contaminated in most of the building. Werner Restoration removed the contaminated flooring and parts of walls. The building is now clean and we have reopened the clothing room. The walls and flooring will be installed later this summer. Please excuse the way our building looks.
We are collecting donations of new school supplies during July. Our goal is to provide new school supplies to every child in need within School District 228. You may drop off donations at the Food Pantry anytime during normal business hours. A list of needed school supplies can be found on each school’s website. If you or your organization is interested in “adopting” an individual child to provide them with their complete list please call us at 944-3165, and we will assign you a child and grade level.
Thank you to all the area gardeners for bringing in their extra produce! Our clients enjoy choosing from fresh fruits and vegetables, and they are very appreciative.
Our volunteer of the month, Diane Cessna, has been volunteering at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry for five years. She distributes food and restocks shelves. Diane said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is that it’s always fun and she likes helping the community. Her most memorable experience at the Food Pantry was when there was a sewer backup and the building flooded. Thank you for serving, Diane!
The Food Pantry will be closed July 5 in observance of Independence Day.
Food needs for the month of July are: Marshmallows, lemonade mix, iced tea, sugar, and flour.
Non-food needs are: Denture cleaner, size 4 diapers, and freezer bags.
