The Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry staff, board, volunteers and clients wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year! During this time of year our clients have the opportunity to see God’s love at work through the many donations to the Food Pantry that help them have a brighter Holiday season.
With the recent increase of Illinois COVID cases, specifically in Henry County, we are no longer taking clothing or household donations. Our main concern is the safety of our volunteers, clients, and staff. We will continue to take food donations on Mondays from 9-12 and 1-4. We ask you to leave only food donations in the carts located outside both our front and back doors. Monetary donations may be made on our website at: geneseofoodpantry.org or mailed to: 620 W Main St., Geneseo, 61254. We will continue to offer curbside food pick up every Tuesday from 9-11:30 am to our clients. If you or your family need assistance please reach out to us at 944-3165. We will re-evaluate our policies when the COVID cases in Henry County decrease. We continue to pray for everyone’s safety.
Thank you to The Farm Bureau Young Leaders for conducting a “Fill-a-Ford” Food Drive on November 14, at Fareway in Geneseo! Also, thank you to all who donated to the Food Drive!
If you would like to donate NEW toys for our clients for Christmas, you may put them in the carts outside our building on Mondays, from 9-12 and 1-4, on or before December 14.
Our volunteer of the month, Elaine Humphrey, has been volunteering at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry for three years. She sorts clothing and assists shoppers in the clothing room. Elaine said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is helping others, meeting people, and working with the staff and volunteers. She likes finding requested items for shoppers. Thank you, Elaine!
Food Needs for December: Juice, beans, canned carrots, pickles, and flour.
Non-food needs include: Hand soap, disinfecting wipes, all-purpose cleaner, razors, and kleenex.
Thank you for your support throughout the year. We ask God to bless you and our families during 2021!
