Our Volunteer of the Month, Our Volunteer of the Month, Sue Sterling, has been volunteering at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry for ten months. She works in the food room assisting guests while they shop. Sue said guests are amazed at the wide variety of food and personal care items that are available. Sue came to Geneseo from Medford, Massachusetts in 2021 so she could help her parents. She enjoys reading, book club, bike riding, fitness walking, and exploring new places.
Sue said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is meeting and working with such a great group of people – guests, volunteers and staff. They make working a lot of fun! Sue’s most memorable experience at the Food Pantry was at Christmastime, seeing all the wonderful gifts and gift-wrapping supplies that are available for Guests and their families. Also, she saw first-hand the support that the local community provides to the Food Pantry with their food, clothing, and household item donations.
Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Sue!
