Our Volunteer of the Month, John Opsal, has been volunteering at the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry for one year. John assists guests in the food room, sorts donations in the clothing room, and helps move food from pallets to carts on River Bend delivery day. John has a wife, a daughter, two stepsons, a stepdaughter and many grandchildren. He enjoys woodworking, gardening, farming, carpentry, and handyman services. John said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry is meeting new people and helping people. John has had many good experiences at the Food Pantry, including helping people, giving advice, and learning a lot, especially how hard life is for a lot of families and individuals right now.
