The Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry is open: Mondays 9:00 am to 7:00 pm; Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; and Fridays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Food is distributed, and donations are gratefully accepted during business hours. We also have collection boxes in the vestibule at Fareway, NOSH, and at Inspire Continuing Care for donations. The Clothing room is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The Food Pantry will be closed on Labor Day, September 2.
Because of the community’s generous support, the Food Pantry provided food and emergency assistance to 250 households in July. Thanks to the many donors who make all this possible!

The Food Pantry partners with Wright Foot Left and Sole Relief to provide two Foot Care Clinics each month. Nurses soak feet, trim and file toenails, help with ingrown toenails, and give a light foot massage with lotion. Please call 309-944-3165 or email geneseopantry1@gmail.com to make an appointment. Cost is $37. Food Pantry Guests are provided with a voucher.
Thank you to: Concordia Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Church, and St. Malachy church, for collecting school supplies during their Vacation Bible Schools! Also, thank you to everyone who donated school supplies, and the volunteers who packed and distributed 117 bags of school supplies for Geneseo Schools students in need! This helped families stretch their budgets as they prepare for the school year. The Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry continues to collect school supplies all year long, and we are grateful for every donation.
Our guests consistently need items such as: Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, denture cleaner, and toothpaste. These are items that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits don’t pay for, and they are always appreciated. Our volunteer of the month, Lillian Bellagamba, has been volunteering at the Food Pantry this summer. She stocks shelves, assists guests in the Food Room, and sorts clothing donations. She also helped pack and distribute school supplies. Lillian has two cats, Lucky and Layla. She enjoys singing, writing, reading, and golfing. Lillian said the best thing about volunteering at the Food Pantry are the people working to help others. Her most memorable experience at the Food Pantry was when she and another worker discovered a crossbow that someone had donated and found that they had a lot in common. Lillian has been a wonderful addition to the Food Pantry. Thank you, Lillian!
Food needs: Cereal, ready to eat soups, chips, crackers, shredded cheese and milk.
Non-food needs: Cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo and conditioner.
Clothing room needs: Men’s clothing (all sizes), women’s XS clothing, sheet sets, socks and new underclothes, starting in September we are accepting fall & cooler weather clothing items.
