Beginning April 5, the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00-noon and 1:00-4:00, and Fridays from 9:00-noon. Clothing and household item donations will be accepted after April 5.
The clothing room will be open for shopping on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays beginning April 5. Food is distributed every Tuesday from 9:00-11:30.
The following volunteer clothing room positions will be open beginning the week of April 5: Sorting/Hanging – these volunteers will sort clothing and household item donations by type and sizes and display them on racks and shelves. Four shifts are open: Tuesdays from 9-12 and 1-4, Thursdays from 9-12 and 1-4. Front Desk Clothing Room – these volunteers will greet shoppers, help them sign in, inform shoppers of clothing room rules, and give them shopping bags. Five shifts are open: Mondays from 9-12, Tuesdays from 9-12 and 1-4, Thursdays from 9-12 and 1-4. Typically volunteers work one shift per week. First Lutheran Church will collect cleaning supplies and personal care items on Saturday, April 10, from 9:00 am – 12 pm at the First Lutheran Church parking lot, 114 E Main St., Geneseo. Donations can also be dropped off before April 10 in the collection box in the Fellowship Room at the Church.
Thank you to all who contributed to the “Scouting for Food” drive, and to the Scouts who collected and delivered donations to the Food Pantry! Food drives like this one help keep the shelves stocked during the summer months when donations typically decrease.
If you are planting a garden this year, please consider planting a row for the Food Pantry. Our clients love having fresh produce to choose from, and some try vegetables they’ve never eaten before if we have them available. We are happy to accept fresh eggs, dairy and meat as well!
